Aquamation
What is Aquamation?
Also known as alkaline hydrolysis, reduction, or flameless water-based cremation.
Aquamation is a revolutionary technique that uses advanced technology to mimic the natural process of decomposition that occurs after burial. Here is how it works.
The pet is placed in a stainless-steel vessel and a combination of gentle water flow, warm temperature, and alkaline salt are used to accelerate the natural breakdown of organic materials. The pressure in the vessel is such that the water does not boil, and it is the water, not the alkaline that breaks down the soft tissues over the course of 18-20 hours.
When the process is complete, only the sterile inorganic minerals of pure calcium phosphate bone remain. These remains are processed into a fine ash-like powder. Due to the gentleness of the aquamation process 20% more remains are returned to the family when compared to flame cremation.

Completely Eco-Safe
During aquamation 100% of the alkali is consumed and neutralized during the process, leaving only pure calcium phosphate bone and a sterile effluent, void of all organic material, contaminants, chemicals, pathogens and disease. Your pet’s fine ash-like remains are completely safe to handle and return to the environment if you choose.
If you decide to scatter your pet’s ashes, we recommend checking the local bylaws for any potential restrictions and always release the ashes in the same direction that the wind is blowing.
